Can’t You Make Money, or Are You Choosing Not To?

A man who grew up in an orphanage, completed only elementary school, and supported himself through manual labor and delivery work from the age of 13 has published a book recounting the experiences that ultimately led him to become chairman of a global blockchain company.

Gloseum Publishing announced on June 18 that it had released Can’t You Make Money, or Are You Choosing Not To?, a self-development book written by Iron Won, chairman of Youth Meta, a global blockchain data analytics company.

The author worked in a range of physically demanding jobs, including manual labor and delivery work, beginning at the age of 13. While employed at a pig farm, he lost 200 pigs to an infectious disease. He later entered the business world but at one point lost his entire fortune. He also spent 14 months in a detention facility due to what he describes as an unjust incident.

Despite these hardships, he drew up a new plan for his life the day after everything had collapsed. Following repeated attempts to rebuild, he now leads a company with approximately 60,000 members across 27 countries.

Youth Meta is an AI-based platform company that uses deep-learning technology to analyze data from global digital asset markets and provide insights into market trends and direction.

In the book, the author argues that some people may not truly be unable to make money, but may instead be choosing not to pursue the opportunities available to them. Across five sections, he presents principles drawn from his own experience, including using deprivation as a source of motivation, investing in personal relationships, and acting before achieving perfect preparation.

One episode encapsulates the central message of the book. Although he was living in a single-room home with a deposit of 5 million won, he borrowed 6 million won to enroll in an executive education program. According to the author, the purpose was not to learn about money, but to learn from people.
